Adil Mohamed Al Sheibani is an accomplished aviation leader with over three decades of experience in engineering, maintenance, and airline operations.
He currently serves as the Director of Engineering at Salam Air, Oman’s fast-growing low-cost carrier, where he oversees the engineering and maintenance division responsible for the airworthiness and reliability of the airline’s A320neo and A321neo fleet.
Under his leadership, Salam Air has embarked on a major transformation of its maintenance and engineering functions, including the implementation of a digital engineering system, optimisation of manpower and productivity, and establishment of robust compliance mechanisms aligned with EASA and CAA Oman regulations.
His strategic vision focuses on operational efficiency, cost control, and the integration of technology-driven maintenance solutions.
Adil also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Business International (IBI), an aviation consultancy headquartered in Muscat, Oman. IBI specialises in MRO development, technical and operational advisory, and strategic aviation ventures across the GCC and East Africa. Through IBI, Adil has led multiple feasibility studies and joint-venture initiatives aimed at enhancing regional self-sufficiency in aircraft maintenance and component support.
Prior to joining Salam Air, Adil held several senior positions at Oman Air, including Senior Manager Planning & Production Control and Senior Manager Development Engineering. Between 2012 and 2016, he deputised for the Chief Technical Officer, leading key programmes such as fleet-wide retrofits, ERP system deployment, and the introduction of the first Engineering Omanisation Program. His efforts generated multimillion-dollar savings and manufacturer compensations while establishing the foundation for Oman Air’s long-term technical resilience.
An EASA Part-66 and CAA Oman Licensed Aircraft Engineer, Adil holds a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering from Oxford Engineering College (U.K.) and has completed advanced management and leadership programmes.
Adil is a frequent speaker and moderator at international aviation conferences. His expertise covers airline maintenance strategy, powerplant lifecycle management, MRO partnerships, and human capital development, reflecting his commitment to advancing regional collaboration, sustainability, and innovation in the aviation sector.
