Javier Sierra Arevalo

Javier holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and a Master’s in Aeronautical Management from CIFF Business School. With 14 years of engineering experience at Iberia Maintenance, he brings a wealth of expertise to his current role.

He began his career in 2011 as a Powerplant Engineer, where he specialised in workscope definitions, technical support for the workshop, and contract negotiations with airlines and OEMs. In 2016, he joined the Customer Support team as a Customer Support Manager for the CFM56-5B fleet. In this position, Javier oversaw engine repairs from start to finish and served as the primary point of contact for customers, ultimately progressing to lead the Customer Support Team.

As Head of Customer Support and Planning, Javier was instrumental in strengthening relationships with airlines, OEMs, and other external customers. He ensured customer satisfaction and optimised workshop performance, while also collaborating with the Engine Workshop Manager on the Business Plan and long-term strategic initiatives.

Today, Javier leads the Powerplant Engineering Department at Iberia Maintenance. He manages a team of over 20 engineers and 40 technicians, driving technical support for multiple platforms. His focus is on optimising maintenance costs, vendor management, and material forecasting to enhance operational efficiency.
